Borneo Safari 2009 - No I Didn't Follow

well here i am.. late again on the updates.. but better late than never (that sounds oh so familiar).. had some pictures taken of these awesome 4x4s during registration time for the Borneo Safari 2009 competition at Likas Square.. the only time you'll actually see them clean before they wade in mud, rocks and sand... too bad i won't be able to see them perform.. by the way Borneo Safari is an annual event here in Sabah.. and it usually brings in participants from Japan, Australia, US and many more countries but a whole lot of them are locals... they compete they help each go thru unchartered territory and have loads of fun.... maybe next year i'll go along with their convoy.. maybe next year :) ...

four wheel drives are a passion amongst most of us here in sabah.. when it comes to competition, we just get into this frenzy about engines and stuff, you're talking about terms like 15B turbo intercooler, 1kz'ses :) , super winch , ninja axles (they're actually land cruisers we just call'em ninjas because they look like dem ninja turtle power .. hohoho) and so much more, these competitors try outdo their opponents by clocking in the best time and of course finishing their SS ( special stages) i'll be posting 4x4s when ever i get to so get in gear . these pictures were taken at Kota Marudu sometime this year.. KMAFWDC............. i wish i had one to play with.. :) lol

The Almost Forgotten Post for the Cloudy Manukan Island Trip

ok.. i must say .. i forgot .. about this.. it's been 3 months now and i just got reading to it from my earlier post... hahah.. but better late than never .. i am really trying hard not to stop blogging things but it's easier said than done huh.. geez if i'm ever going to make money out of blogging i gotta be more pro active , hmmm??? so the trip was kind of like not planned but i took that 1 holiday and spent like lotsa of money ... movies, shopping, staying at the Le Meridian Hotel... and going to a day of basking in the sun at Manukan Island, one of the few National Parks here in Sabah... yep everything we did on that day was in Kota Kinabalu how cheap.. yeah right.. !!! there were hoardes of people there at the island.. (school holidays no wonder) but really when was the last time i went there?? ..ok.. 20 years maybe.. or more maybe.. maybe.. fish was abundant.. they don't swim away... i mean really u get a whole lot if you cast a net close to the jetty.. but of course that's outta bounds... there are several chalets to stay in a store for your chips and drinks, a stall that sell snacks and other kind of foodstuff .. the earliest ride there is probably around 8 or 9am and the last boat to get out of there is 5pm(by the way you ride the same boat home too.. it's all in the package)....cost rm50/head(if my feeble brain can remember) we travelled by boat of course for about 30 minutes.. thought it would be a smooth ride but darn.. bumps here and there.. the wife was screaming all the way.. first time for her.. ahahahah .. i was to embarrased .. but one sharp turn too almost took my heart away.. :) lol .. looked behind to see a 12-13 year old kid manuevering behind the wheel..(the kid in the white collared T) (*&* .. well there you go .. till my next post .. :)

SorrYello ....... The Maliau Basin Trip

definition for SorrYello.... well actually it's short for sorry i've been neglecting my blog and hello I'M BACK ... i'm safe and sound if ya'll are wondering... haven't even really been to my blog all this while.. you know i've gotta change my attitude.. i gotta have more initiative, i've gotta be more responsible for what i've started.. i've gotta be THE BLOGGER... heheheh .. ok anyway these pictures are from my recent trip to the heart of sabah ... Maliau Basin it's called.. kinda like a large crater in the middle of Sabah, Malaysia.. Borneo Island ... where flora and fauna are abundant.. elephants, the famous tambadau (wild ox) and whole lot of other animals.. but i gotta tell you.. i only saw one deer and a tamuning (ok it's like a ferret) but shucks .. i didn't get to shoot it with my Canon.. delighting u always.. :) .. but i shot it with my eyes.. .. in these pictures .. sunset with a toyota hilux i really like the sunset dew .. it was drizzling, a beautiful butterfly.. ok.. it's just brown.. and the watch tower that shows the whole basin ... ok.. so tell me.. please do remind me not to slack on my blog.. :)

Sutra's Fish... Gilbert and Faranica's Reception

i love fish, it's the texture, the taste, just unique. got a chance to dine with Gilbert and Faranica .. ok i was there official Masters of Ceremonies that night .. and one of the entrees was this, deep fried garoupa laced with some sweet sour plum sauce ... thai style i think how it was prepared.. was it good???? ... heck yeah.. :)

Le Meridian Sunset

ok so it was June 11 2009 that i took off from work to get a way from my life of computers, and it was a fun filled day at Manukan Island(i'll be posting this story later) and finally a relaxing time at Le Meridian Hotel Kota Kinabalu. talk about cuti-cuti Malaysia (holidaying Malaysia) spent money here and there.. ooops.. well evening was again approaching and wonderful that the sun was peeking through the clouds in the west... again spectacular sunset from a Le Meridien Facing the Ocean Window that this was taken... ok i had the reflection done on me while taking the top picture.. :) .. spcialFX kinda.. :)
